Eric Weissgarber and his family started on a journey of smarter generosity in the 1980s. As a successful entrepreneur in several industries, including technology, exporting, real estate and financial advisory; Eric‘s life journey showed his family many smarter ways to be generous. He holds a BBA from The University of Texas in Austin in finance. His MBA (with honors) was earned at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, now part of Arizona State University in Phoenix.

Mr. Weissgarber held five board certifications, including:

CCIM, Certified Commercial Investment Member, of the National Realtors Association.
CFP, Certified Financial Planner.
CLU, Chartered Life Underwriter
AIF, Accredited Investment Fiduciary
Kingdom Advisor, A Christian perspective on finances

Eric has decades of community service, including:

volunteer treasurer at his church, Hillside Fellowship in Spring branch Texas
Leadership San Antonio and Masters Leadership San Antonio
Texas Master Naturalist
Boy Scouts of America, assistant scoutmaster for seven years

Eric and his family actively support causes promoting free enterprise, youth development, Christian missionary work and conservative political causes.

Eric has been married over four decades with three children and three great grandchildren. Hobbies include just about everything outdoors, (including things that can hurt you), travel, fly fishing, reading and disc golf.

Mr. Weissgarber sold his investment advisory and financial planning firm in 2022. He holds no licenses and is not selling anything. He just wants to share many powerful ideas that could help donors and nonprofits practice Smarter Generosity™.
